Well Fellow Google Blog Owner's and Fellow Google Blog Fans leave it to Google once again to make a change to something that was working just fine for so many years that we all have seen and used and that is to their Friend Connect Gadget. Why the change, well it appears to me it was by someone who had their head up their ass that thought it would be better if there was an "Unfollow" button for those that are already following a Blog and that the entire gadget should be on a transparent background, has shown here...
Well 1st of all, about the only time that I would think someone would want to un follow a Blog is if the Blog has been removed by Google and then how is one to login to a Removed Blog to click on the "Unfollow" Button!!! DA
2nd of all, with a transparent background all is well and fine if your Blog has has White Background or a Light Colored Background or even a photo Background, but if you have a Blog with a Black Background, then this is what your Blog Visitors see...
Note that they can no longer see how many followers you have. And while the total number of Followers are there if you drag your mouse across the upper left hand corner, but how many Blog Visitors are going to do that??? And of course, there is NO WAY that you can edit the Gadget to change the background from transparent to a color or the Gadget font color from black to another color!
So I have come up with two ways to over come this problem..
1. The quickest and easiest way is just include the total number of followers within the Title of the Gadget, since the Title of the Gadget is controlled by your Blog's Template and as I have done here on this blog that you can see above. Of course this means that you are always going to be having to edit the Title as you gain or loss Followers.
2. The another way I found that works only for those that are using Google's Designer Template's and that is by adding some code to your template to change the background of the Follower Gadget to a gray tone, has show here...
And you can see on my Auto Wall Blog. To do this, just click on Template and then Customize and then Advanced and scroll all the way down to the bottom to Add CSS has shown here.....
And copy the following code..

Background: #666;
}
Background: #666;
}
And paste it into the box and then click on the [Apply to Blog Button] and then [Back to Blogger]. TA DA!!! You're done. Now view your Blog and you will be able to see the total number of followers within the Follower Gadget. Hoping this is of help to someone and with all this said, here is....
